Dr. Michele
VETERINARIAN
Raised in rural Nova Scotia, Michele developed a love for animals and the outdoors early in life. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College. Michele has been the co-owner of the clinic since 2023. She particularly enjoys practicing medicine, dentistry, and behaviour, and is passionate about helping clients better understand and care for their pets through education. Outside of the clinic, Michele lives with her husband and daughter, along with their energetic golden retriever Max and their silly young cat Milo. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and camping with friends and family.
Questions
-
What’s your favourite animal and why?
My favourite animals are dogs due to their love of life and overall happy and outgoing personalities. I admire their ability to at one moment be completely relaxed and at a moment’s notice always be ready for fun.
-
Can you share a pet care tip?
A pet care tip some people may not know is that the popular grain free diets have been linked to potentially causing cardiomyopathy in dogs.
-
What’s your pet’s name and why did you choose it?
Our cat’s name is MJ. She has this name as we adopted her the weekend that Michael Jackson passed away.
-
How do you stay updated with the latest developments in veterinary care?
I stay up to date on the latest developments in veterinary care by travelling to continuing education conferences yearly and through membership in the veterinary information online network.
-
What inspired you to work in this industry?
I was inspired to work in this industry when as a young girl my own cat was injured by a horse and I was able to help her heal her wound.
